This past weekend, I visited my family in Algonquin, Illinois for their annual Founder’s Day Festival!
All participants got two cardboard boxes and three rolls of duct tape and had to build a flat bottom boat that could race to a boat and back without sinking.
While we didn’t get in on the action, Billy, my cousin, sure enjoyed playing with the empty un-used boxes.
Friday afternoon, my friend Kate came up to visit. We spent the night at Angel Towne Park listening to live music and socializing. I saw my childhood friend, Bryan there. It was so nice to catch up!
Saturday Morning was the Founder’s Day parade. One of the floats threw out a free t-shirt for Dundee Highlands Wrestling. I weaseled my way into the YOUTH SMALL shirt, and Billy gave it a try too 😉
After the parade we walked over to the park for an afternoon of beer and cover bands. We saw American English, a Beatles Cover Band, and 25 or 6 to 4, a Chicago cover band (probably the best I’ve seen!)
These are my cousins Billy and Matt. They watched the bands with me!
Isn’t Matt such a little cutie when he SMILES!? lol
The trees in Towne Park are absolutely beautiful. I couldn’t stop taking pictures of them!!
The weekend ended on Sunday with a big fireworks watching show on the river front. Where I experimented with light-painting with the pretty colors!
I can’t wait to go back next year!!!
Thanks for looking 🙂
