Girls Weekend in New Orleans

NOLARECAP-06

I met my two best friends, Kate and Lisa over ten years ago. They are two of my oldest and dearest friends. We used to spend every summer together until our lives took us all across the country. We hadn’t seen each other since mine and Justin’s wedding two years ago, so we decided to meet up in New Orleans for a long weekend of fun.

Girls Weekend in New Orleans

All our mornings started with beignets at Cafe Beignet and a beautiful walk through the French Quarter.

I couldn’t get enough of the sweet little shops and adorable shopping. I fell in love with a store called Roux Royale that was full of precious serving wear, party napkins, and the most adorable dish towels you ever did see.

I think the highlight of our trip was without a doubt Sucre, a sweet shop off of Conti. I’m not ashamed to admit I spent so much time and money in this precious little shop tasting the gelato (the vanilla cupcake was UNREAL), the chocolates, and most delicious of all, the macarons.

I wish I had taken more pictures of the macarons because they were not only the most delicious things I had ever had, they were beautiful–dusted with edible glitter and gold dust and the most beautiful, vibrant colors.

We visited the historic Carousel Bar & Lounge in the Hotel Monteleone. What a lovely place to sit and sip!

I ate entirely too many broiled oysters. I love raw oysters but I knew I wouldn’t be able to have any while pregnant. The broiled oysters at Dragos were seriously amazing. (Though, it’s hard to find a bad oyster in NOLA!)

It was such a fun weekend to spend with the girls and exploring such a beautiful city!
