As part of my sister’s Bachelorette weekend, we embarked on a wine tasting tour through Southern Michigan.
I was completely unaware of the wine scene in Michigan, but the tasting tour was by far the most fun I have had in the mitten state!
Our tour was through Grape & Grains, which also does beer tours!
Our tour had four stops, including lunch. We stopped in at Lemon Creek Winery, Dablon Winery, Round Barn, Domaine Berrian Cellars and a stop at the Round Barn Public House for lunch.
I encourage everyone at some point in their life to get out and wine taste in Michigan. There are maps if you prefer the self-guided route, or plenty of tours to check out.
I’d like to share my favorite must-stop locations.
Dablon Winery & Vineyard | Baroda, MI
From the moment you walk into Dablon Winery you feel so cozy. The rich wood and bold brick fireplace are so inviting and lovely.
Being a part of the tour group, our group had a private tasting bar for our enjoyment.
$12 gets you 6 samples of wine. My personal favorite is their Rose. Life changing.
Round Bar Winery, Distillery & Brewery | Baroda, MI
There are several Round Bar locations in Michigan, including the fantastic Public House, but my personal favorite is the Baroda Estate.
This space in the summertime is nothing short of heaven. Live music, a feeling of community, and the beautiful round barn were such an amazing atmosphere to drink in.
Round Barn is more than just a winery, they also make beer and my personal favorite: gin.
If you get a chance to visit, spring for the elevated tasting experience. Available Saturdays and Sundays for $15, this experience was AMAZING and SUCH an excellent value for your money.
Our group was able to enjoy a private tasting in the gorgeous barn in our own little nook.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t plug for the Public House too. If you love pub food, or even better, pub brunch, this is a must stop. More centralized location with all the lovely tastes of the Baroda Estate.
