Brunch at the Top at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

I love brunch. Call me the quintessential millennial or whatever but I freaking love it. I love breakfast food, I love alcohol and I love sleeping in. Brunch is a literal dream come true for me.

I’ve made it my personal mission to try all the best brunch spots in central Florida (and I’ve succeeded in that for the most part) but there’s that one particular brunch that I DREAM about. And that is the Brunch at the Top at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

If you have the cash and a full 4 hours for brunch to spare (I’m not kidding), get yourself over to Brunch at the Top.

Here’s five reasons why: 

Reason Number 1: Valet is included in the cost of your brunch. Hello $25+ savings and a free access to walk to Magic Kingdom afterwards! (This is the worst best thing about Brunch at the Top. The reasons get better from here.)

PRO TIP: If you’re staying on Disney Property, call a Minnie Van! Let Disney be your DD. I’m obsessed with this service and it’s perfect to getting you back to your resort safe and sound with the best possible Uber/Lyft experience.

Reason Number 2: California Grill has THE BEST view of the Orlando Area/Disney World around.

Perched at the top of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, California Grill is the most scenic spot of any Orlando-area brunch spot. We could watch the 2 o’clock parade come through Frontierland, see fireworks shoot of Cinderella Castle during the stage show and much much more. It’s really gorgeous being up there and seeing this beautiful property in such a sweeping way.

Cal Grill also has two walkways outside if you want to get a perfect photo.

Reason Number 3: Complementary Mimosas. And this isn’t some Publix brand champagne.

After three visits to Brunch at the Top, I can assure you this is one of the best values and your servers are not shy about refilling your champagne.

Occasionally, they’ll switch things up too. I’ve had everything from a traditional mimosa of OJ and Champagne to a signature cocktail when I arrive, to a Boba Pearl and Rosé Champagne cocktail that was delightful. All of which were complimentary to our meal.

Reason Number 4: The non-complementary alcohol will change your life.

Specifically the Bloody Mary Bar. I saw this the first time and shed a tear. It’s so spectacular I almost always forget how fan-freaking-tastic it is.

You start by picking your vodka (I’m a fan of the Absolute Pepper for a spice or the Bellevider Bloody Mary Vodka), and deciding on a rim of Celery Salt. (Hi, Chicago native here, give me ALL the celery salt!)

From there, you’re able to customize your taste further by choosing from a selection of hot sauces to mix and match.

After your base is set the way you like it, you can choose five mix ins. Choose from candied bacon, chorizo, a variety of pickles and pickled vegetables, Blue Cheese stuffed olives and more.

The size of these Bloody Mary’s is outrageous and they are DELICIOUS.

Reason Number 5: OMG THE FOOD. 

Seriously. The food. The food is SO good. The best food of all food. The foodiest food of all food. California Grill is one of the best dining experiences at Walt Disney World and their brunch is no exception.

Included in the price of brunch is unlimited access to self-serve dishes. Sushi, assorted pastries, deviled eggs, salads and house-made Charcuterie are all available to you in however many servings as you’d like.

In addition to self-serve options, you can order an entrée.

I HIGHLY recommend the Lobster Eggs Benedict or the Lobster Omelette.

The Blueberry Pancakes and Grilled Hangar Steak are also delicious.

At the end of the meal, they bring through a tray of desserts filled with yummy sweet pastries, chocolates and macarons.

Know Before You Go: There is a dress code at Cal Grill. Guys can wear dress shorts with collared shirts, girls should look on the casual side of business casual. I’ve rocked sundresses, light tops, and even a T-shirt with a skirt.

Overall, the Brunch at the Top is such an incredible experience for any celebration and totally worth a splurge.
