5 Reasons to go on a Disney Cruise

In November, Justin and I took our kids on their first-ish Disney Cruise. MJ went on a Disney Cruise with our family when she was two and Parkie had never gone, so we considered this experience the first they would actually remember.

There’s a lot to consider when you plan a cruise, whether or not you consider Disney, and admittedly Disney is not the cheapest cruise option out there. However, as someone who has been on every cruise line from Royal Caribbean to Princess to Norwegian, we still continue to choose Disney and here’s just five reasons why.

1. Senses Spa

My favorite thing about Disney Cruise Line is the Senses Spa. It is my happy place. It is the place where I am my most relaxed self.

Every cruise I treat myself to a massage and a visit to the Rainforest Room, a luxurious oasis with saunas, showers, hot tubs and (my favorite) heated loungers with gorgeous views of the ocean.

Thinking about Senses Spa while I sit in my sweat pants on my couch writing this makes me want to cry. 1000% worth the cost of admission alone.

2. Castaway Cay

I’m sure if you’re researching going on a Disney Cruise, you’ve done your research about Castaway Cay. It is heaven on a beach. White sand, clear blue waters, and any recreational activity you could think of: inner tubes, snorkeling, water slides, etc.

Our day on Castaway Cay in November was our girls’ favorite thing. They still talk about it today. Parker spent the remainder of our vacation asking to go back to the beach.

And if my words don’t convince you, let these images speak for themselves.

3. Fine Dining at Palo

The rotational dining that Disney Cruise Line is known for is exceptional, but if you want some grown up time away, invest in a meal at Remy or, our favorite, Palo. Inspired by Venetian cuisine, it’s a beautifully intimate restaurant.

Fun fact, if you dine at Palo or Remy more than once, i.e. Dinner and Brunch, you will have the same server each time so you get a chance to get to know them a bit better, outside of the hustle and bustle of the dining room downstairs.

Also, get the antipasto platter with the red chili olive oil. You can thank me later.

4. World-Class Entertainment

Fireworks at sea. Intimate character meet and greets. And the Beauty and the Beast show onboard the Disney Dream is easily one of the best shows I’ve seen on a ship.

5. Spaces for Kids & Adults

Our rooms were so accommodating for the whole family too. We had a spacious balcony and the girls were obsessed with their bunk beds, complete with princess sheets.

If the note about Palo and Senses weren’t enough, there are adult’s only entertainment districts and pools onboard as well.

As for the kids, they couldn’t get enough of the Oceaneers Club. We literally had to drag them out of there just to check that they were still alive. They had an insane amount of fun in the kids’ spaces that we almost felt guilty for having them in there so long. Almost.

So there are just 5 reasons you should be considering a Disney Cruise. Don’t wait and get booking, and save some room in your suitcase for ya girl.
