I got the best news last year: my Sister Wife, Mommy BFF, Ride or Die gal, Kathy is expecting her second child with her husband Scott.
Kathy & Scott’s daughter Audrey has been friends with Maisy since they were babies, and as parents we have bonded over our girls love for each other and our own adult love of good beer. Which is why when we started planning a “Sprinkle” for Kathy and Scott, a beer themed shower was the perfect way to go.
I designed the invitations with Canva, a free app with loads of templates for everything from blog headers to social media posts to invitations. To distribute, I used Punchbowl, another free app that I highly recommend for organizing guest lists for email delivery.
If you haven’t guessed it already from my parties in the past, I’m a huge fan of the DIY party. I was not going to sleep on this one. My first DIY element was a beer and baby bottle banner I custom cut with my Silhouette machine.
I firmly believe that every party needs a focal point. For this shower, it was the bar mix table. I rescued the wood grain backdrop I purchased for Maisy’s Gravity Falls party and assembled a bubbly balloon banner out of gold, yellow and pearlescent balloons.
One of the highlights for the guest was the extensive craft beer options we had available for sampling and the Grazing Table, an open styled table of cheese, charcuterie and fruit I’ll break down further in another post.
It was an amazing afternoon celebrating two of my favorite people. I’m so excited to meet their little Pint next month!
